Simonas Kairys congratulated producer Uljana Kim for Receiving Award from European Film Academy: “Thanks to you, Lithuania is becoming more striking in the world of cinema”
At the ceremony of the 36th European Film Awards on 9th December in Germany, Uljana Kim received the Eurimages international co-production award.
While congratulating Uljana Kim, who accepted the award during the ceremony in Berlin, the Minister of Culture Simonas Kairys highlighted the producer’s achievements in strengthening Lithuania’s role in the world of cinema.
“The name of producer Uljana Kim signifies the highest degree of professionalism, while the list of the work she has done is updated with increasingly ambitious projects. This Eurimages co-production award confirms that Lithuania is becoming increasingly striking and significant in the world of cinema. It is pleasant to see that Uljana Kim’s enormous achievements in this process have been noticed and appreciated at the level of entire Europe”, Simonas Kairys claimed.
The prestigious Eurimages co-production award is presented by the European Film Academy in cooperation with Eurimages, the cultural support fund of the Council of Europe. It acknowledges the decisive role of co-productions in fostering international exchange.
This is the first time in the country’s history when it was decided to present the Eurimages co-production award to a producer from Lithuania.
