Lithuania and the EU Council Secretariat Discuss Preparations for the 2027 Presidency

Lukas Alsys, Minister of Culture, met with Peter Javorčík, Director-General for Transport, Energy, Environment and Education at the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union (GSC) to discuss preparations for the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the field of culture and audiovisual.

Particular attention was given to legislative plans and related challenges, as well as practical cooperation with the General Secretariat of the Council, which will be Lithuania’s key partner throughout the Presidency.

Lithuania will hold the Presidency of the Council of the EU from 1 January to 30 June 2027.
