S. Kairys to attend the opening events of the Season of Lithuania in France 2024
Minister of Culture Simonas Kairys will be in Paris from the 12th to the 15th of September to take part in the opening events of the Season of Lithuania in France 2024.
S. Kairys will attend the opening event at the Centre Pompidou and the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the Centre Pompidou and the MO Museum.
The Minister of Culture will attend the world premiere of Lina Lapelytė’s performance The Speech at the Paris Bourse de Commerce art centre and the opening of the exhibitions Lithuanian Contemporary Art from the 1960s to Today. A Major Donation, Kazys Varnelis. An Optical Classicist from Lithuania, Jonas Mekas’ retrospective exhibition Memories of Jonas Mekas (agnès b.’s gallery La Fab) and other exhibitions, as well as the music programme and choir project ‘Skambantys skverai’ dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Lithuanian Song and Dance Festival.
S. Kairys will also take part in the conference Lithuania and France: a distance neighbourhood – a shared experience at Sorbonne University.
