Museum of Battle of Grunwald updated in Poland
Today the Vice-Minister of Culture Vygintas Gasparavičius attended the opening of the Museum of Battle of Grunwald (Žalgiris), which has been transferred to new spaces, and its modern exposition.
This museum consists of not only multifunctional exhibition spaces but also halls of knights and conferences, areas for scientific research and a library. The museum introduces the key events before the Grunwald/Žalgiris Battle, what happened during the battle and after it.
Vice-Minister of Culture Vygintas Gasparavičius emphasized that, following this great battle—a joint triumph of Poland and Lithuania—the power and friendship of our countries grew stronger.
“The legendary victory set the course for a centuries-long cooperation between our nations: from economic and cultural to defence-related. Unfortunately, the latter remains as relevant today as it was 612 years ago. The Grunwald/Žalgiris Battle is a topical reminder of how important the unity between advanced countries is in the fight against imperial expansion. Lithuania and Poland continue demonstrating this unity today, as they bravely defend their own interests and prevent our partners from giving up”, Gasparavičius said.
