Gabrielė Žaidytė wins the competition for Cultural Attaché to Sweden, Finland, and Denmark
Gabrielė Žaidytė has won the competition announced by the Ministry of Culture for the post of Cultural Attaché at the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Lithuania in the Kingdom of Sweden, with functions in the Republic of Finland and the Kingdom of Denmark.
Out of the 10 participants in the competition, she received the highest number of points from the jury.
Gabrielė Žaidytė, who holds a PhD in Art History, was one of the co-founders of the UNESCO Chair in Cultural Management and Cultural Policy at Vilnius Academy of Arts and the first Head of the Chair, who has integrated the Chair into international professional networks.
G. Žaidytė has taught at Vilnius University of Applied Sciences and created new courses in Lithuanian and English; she writes articles in academic publications, participates in scientific conferences, and develops methodological teaching materials.
Gabrielė Žaidytė has worked as a Cultural Attaché in Germany, Ukraine, and Georgia.
G. Žaidytė has been the Advisor to the Prime Minister on Cultural Issues since 2021.
The successful candidate may take up their duties subject to a security clearance certificate issued in accordance with the procedure laid down by law and the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The term of office of the Cultural Attaché is three years.
