Approved agreement with South Korea will strengthen cultural relations

The government has approved the agreement between the governments of the Republic of Lithuania and the Republic of Korea regarding cooperation in the fields of culture, arts, education, science, youth affairs, and sports.

The agreement provides that the bilateral relations in the fields of culture and arts will include exchange in culture and art publications, museum and art exhibitions, cooperation in music, theatre, opera and dance, cultural heritage, museology, library science, cinematography and other fields of creative industries. Cooperation between both countries’ radio and television organisations as well as exchange in programmes will also be encouraged and efforts will be made to ensure that copyright and related rights are protected in both countries.

The agreement also encourages cooperation between Lithuania and South Korea in the fields of education, science, youth affairs, and sports.

The agreement between the government of the Republic of Lithuania and the government of the Republic of Korea regarding cooperation in the fields of culture, arts, education, science, youth affairs, and sports was signed on 7 June 2021 in Vilnius by the Minister of Culture Simonas Kairys and the Ambassador of South Korea Mira Sun.
