The administration of the Ministry of Culture met representatives of the Lithuanian World Community – Dalia Henke, Jūrate Caspersen and Vida Bandis.

The Minister of Culture, Mr. Mindaugas Kvietkauskas participated in the ceremony of uncovering of memorial board of YIVO Institute for Jewish Research on the Vivulskio street in Vilnius on Thursday. It was the place of the building where YIVO Institute was operating in 1933-1944.

The Minister of Culture, Mr. Mindaugas Kvietkauskas met the ambassador of Switzerland to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia residing in Riga, Mr. Konstantin Obolensky.

The Minister of Culture, Mr. Mindaugas Kvietkauskas met Mr. Jonathan Brent, Executive Director of YIVO Institute for Jewish Research in New York, and Dr. Stefanie Halpern, manager of archives of this institute.

Visiting Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas, who is visiting Poland for a working visit, participated in the Czesław Miłosz Festival, met with the Krakow city mayor’s Commissioner for Culture Robert Piaskowski, and the historian of literature at Jagiellonian University, professor Joanna Zach.

Mindaugas Kvietkauskas, the Minister of Culture, visiting Warsaw for a working visit, met with the Deputy Prime Minister of Poland, Minister of Culture and National Heritage, prof. Piotr Gliński.

At the solemn ceremony which took place in Sejny, literature researcher, theatrologist, founder of the Open Society Fund-Lithuania, professor Irena Veisaitė was awarded the “Borderlander” title. It is one of the most prestigious awards in Poland.

Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas opened the Lithuanian pavilion at the International Venice Biennial. This time the Lithuanian beach was set up in it - a contemporary opera-performance "Sun & Sea" (Marina) by director Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė, writer Vaiva Grainytė and composer Lina Lapelytė.

Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas and the Italian Minister of Culture Alberto Bonisol signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cultural Cooperation between the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities of Italian Republic on Saturday.

Issues related to strengthening of cultural ties, development of joint projects in various fields of culture and art, cooperation in media and information literacy were discussed at a meeting of Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas and the United Kingdom Ambassador Claire Lawrence on Monday.

New accents are constantly being added to the cultural ties between Lithuania and Kazakhstan, that allow them to know each other better. This was discussed at a meeting of Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Viktor Tembirbajev, which took place on Thursday.
