Minister of Culture Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson is taking part in the two-day International Culture Summit in Edinburgh today.

Lithuania and Scotland are very unique and interesting in terms of their history and culture. Co-operation between the two countries takes place in many cultural and artistic fields.

On Thursday, Minister of Culture Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson met with the newly appointed Lithuanian Culture Attaché in France, Austė Zdančiūtė, and wished her to discover as many new connections in all the areas of Lithuanian-French cultural co-operation as possible.

Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson, Lithuanian Minister of Culture, was in Riga on the 08th of July. The visit’s agenda contained conclusion of trilateral agreements and visit to the Song Festival dedicated to the centenary of the Latvian State.

The Centenary Song Festival “In the name of…” that has just ended attracted thousands of spectators. 36 thousand participants took part in the Ensembles’ Evening in Kalnai Park, in the Dance Day, final concert of the Song Day and in other events. They gave joy and pride in their country to Lithuania.
