The Minister of Culture Mindaugas Kvietkauskas will make a working visit to Paris and Brussels this week.

The Forum of Ministers of Culture of UNESCO member states will be held in the capital of France on 19 November. This forum, in which the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania will speak as well, will discuss the place of culture in the politics of a country and sustainable development. While in Paris, Minister Kvietkauskas will also take part in a tripartite meeting of the Baltic ministers of culture and visit the Pompidou Centre and the Museum of Art and History of Judaism.

In the capital of Belgium, Mindaugas Kvietkauskas will attend the meeting of the EU Ministers' Council on Cultural and Audiovisual Affairs and the Education, Youth and Culture Council of the European Union (EU). A resolution is planned to be adopted in the meeting whose aim is to strengthen the contribution of culture to sustainable development. This document seeks to initiate the process which would help prepare an EU-level plan for ensuring the coherence of cultural and culture-related measures and methods.
