Minister of Culture Š. Birutis opens Lithuanian Pavilion at Venice Architecture Biennale
On Thursday evening, Minister of Culture Šarūnas Birutis attended the opening of the Lithuanian Pavilion at the 19th Venice International Architecture Biennale.
"This is a unique opportunity to showcase our country's ideas in a global context. Our pavilion “Archi / Tree / tecture” raises important questions about relationship of architecture with nature and its role in creating a more sustainable future. It is particularly gratifying that Lithuanian architects are seeking a harmonious dialogue with nature in their work, demonstrating a holistic approach to sustainability – encompassing not only energy efficiency, but also the long-term harmony between the idea of a building, its function and the space it creates. I hope that this exhibition will inspire visitors, stimulate new ideas and debate about the role of architecture in creating a more harmonious future," Minister of Culture said at the official opening of the Lithuanian Pavilion.
The Lithuanian Pavilion located in the historic Chiesa di Santa Maria dei Derelitti, invites visitors to this year's Biennale to take a deeper look at the relationship between architecture and nature.
