Inga Vidugirytė-Pakerienė appointed Lithuania’s cultural attaché to the Russian Federation

Inga Vidugirytė-Pakerienė has won a competition of the Ministry of Culture for the position of a cultural attaché at the diplomatic representation of the Republic of Lithuania to the Russian Federation.

Inga Vidugirytė-Pakerienė is an associate professor at the Department of Russian Philology of Vilnius University. As a scientist and literary scholar, Ms Vidugirytė-Pakerienė has been working in higher education for more than 20 years, teaching Russian literature and culture as well as the literature of other Slavic languages.

The winner of the competition is entitled to take office after obtaining a personnel security clearance issued in accordance with the law and the written approval of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The cultural attaché will start office in October after undergoing mandatory procedures.  The term of office of a cultural attaché is three years.
