Journalist Gražina Michnevičiūtė won the Ministry of Culture’s selection procedure for the position of Culture Attaché in the Lithuanian consulate in New York, USA.

Mrs Gražina Michnevičiūtė has worked as a journalist and publication editor for many years. In this field she gained a wealth of experience in implementing international projects, including cultural ones.

‘I am very hopeful that the new attaché will have a significant impact on helping Lithuanian artists to discover the US market and introducing Lithuanian artists to the art institutions of this country on an even deeper level. With this goal in mind, the attaché office was relocated to New York because it is the true art capital of the US. We hope this will make the attaché job easier’, said Mrs Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson, Minister of Culture.

The winning applicant may begin her work as soon as she has received a personal reliability certificate to be issued in compliance with the laws and upon the approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. Upon the completion of all the required procedures, Mrs Michnevičiūtė will begin her duties at the start of 2018. The term of office for a culture attaché is three years.
