Former Cultural Attaché to Poland was granted the Award of Krakow City

Rasa Rimickaitė, the former Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Poland, has been granted the Stanislaw Vincenzo Central and Eastern Europe Award by the Council of Kraków City for the promotion of Central and Eastern European culture.

R. Rimickaitė is a literary scholar, theatrologist, translator. She has worked at the International Theatre Institute, the Lithuanian Theatre Union, worked as a cultural broadcaster for Polish radio, and taught Lithuanian literature at the University of Warsaw. During the period from 2012 to 2024, she worked as Lithuanian Cultural Attaché in the Republic of Poland. In her activities, she not only took care of the presentation of Lithuanian culture, history and exceptional contemporary art projects in Poland, but also, based on the values of dialogue and openness, created long-term cultural relations between Lithuania and Poland, and promoted mutual understanding.

R. Rimickaitė has previously been awarded the Silver Medal of the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage “Gloria Artis”, the Cavalier Cross of the Order of Merit for the Republic of Poland, the Jerzy Giedroyc Award of the Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation for her efforts to foster Polish-Lithuanian relations, and the medal “Ubi concordia, ibi Victoria” for her services to the City of Gdansk.
