Chinese Minister of Culture: ‘China has a Real Fever of Lithuanian Culture’

September 22, during a visit to China, a bilateral meeting between the Minister of Culture Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson and the Chinese Minister of Culture Luo Shugang took place.

‘Lithuania is big with its culture, the influence of which is particularly visible in China. China is currently having a real fever of Lithuanian culture. Tickets for cultural events are sold immediately, we can feel the attention of the representatives of Lithuania working here and their contribution to cultural relations, this cooperation is very pleasing to us’, said the Minister of Culture of China during the meeting.

The Minister of Culture Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson thanked the Chinese Minister of Culture for the well-organized forum of China and the Central and Eastern European Countries, which is contributing to even more intensive cooperation in the field of culture and the visibility of Lithuania and Lithuanian culture in China. ‘It is important that this cooperation is creating conditions to initiate cooperation networks, find partners - cultural organizations, cultural professionals which have become reliable partners over the last few years’, stressed the Minister of Culture.

During the meeting the issue of visas without stamp duty for cultural professionals and the possibility of organizing a study tour of Chinese film industry to Lithuania in order to introduce the opportunities and locations for film production in our country was discussed. The Minister of Culture invited Luo Shugang to visit Lithuania in 2018 when Lithuania will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the restoration of the state.
