Baltic culture ministers strengthen trilateral cultural cooperation

On September 2 in Vilnius, the Minister of Culture of Lithuania Šarūnas Birutis met Latvian and Estonian Ministers of Culture Dace Melbārde and Indrek Saar. The three Baltic ministers took part in a ceremony of opening Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania after renovation.

The ministers talked about increasing cooperation between Baltic cultural institutions and specialists and discussed cultural exchanges. It was agreed to intensify cultural cooperation in view of the forthcoming 100th anniversary of the independence of the Baltic States, by presenting the Baltic States in other countries, sharing knowledge and good experience in the field of cultural governance.
