Gražina Michnevičiūtė starts work as Culture Attaché of the Republic of Lithuania in the USA

On 12 March journalist Gražina Michnevičiūtė starts to work as Lithuanian Culture Attaché in the Lithuanian Consulate General in New York, USA.

Mrs Michnevičiūtė has worked as a journalist for many years, she was an editor of the magazine Moteris.

‘I am very hopeful that the new attaché will have a significant impact on helping Lithuanian artists to discover the US market and introducing Lithuanian artists to the art institutions of this country on an even deeper level’,  said Minister of Culture Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson.

The main work objectives of the Lithuanian culture attaché in the USA are inclusion of Lithuanian artists in the programmes of US cultural institutions, promotion of professional ties between the Lithuanian and US cultural institutions, transfer of the archives collected by the Lithuanian community and other archives, and co-operation with the expatriates living in the USA and working in the field of culture.

The term of office for a culture attaché is three years.
