Dr. Elena Keidošiūtė Elected as Cultural Attaché in Israel for the Second Tenure

The current cultural attaché dr. Elena Keidošiūtė has won a competition of the Ministry of Culture for the position of a cultural attaché at the diplomatic representation of the Republic of Lithuania in Israel. She has been taking the same position since 2016. Ms Keidošiūtė has received the highest number of scores from the commission. There were three applicants for the position.

Ms Keidošiūtė, a specialist in cultural history and anthropology, a translator, and a doctor of humanities at Vilnius University, also holds a master’s degree in Jewish History and Culture from the University Southampton in the United Kingdom. From 2016 to 2016, she was a visiting scholar at the Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies at New York University, and was a trainee at the Prins Foundation for the Centre for Jewish History in New York.  

The winner of the competition may take up the position after obtaining a Personnel Security Clearance Certificate issued in accordance with the procedure defined by laws and upon approval of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania. The term of office of a cultural attaché is three years. The cultural attaché will start work in Israel on September 1.
